Asked Questions
of the Regional Public Safety Training Center
Q:
Which courses held at the Regional Public Safety Training Center
require that I register through Truckee Meadows Community College?
A:
The Northern Nevada Law Enforcement Academy, The Northern
Nevada Fire and Rescue Academy, The TMCC Paramedic Program, The
TMCC Wildland Firefighter Program, and TMCC Criminal Justice and/or
Law & Legal semester courses.
Q:
How do I obtain registration information for TMCC Academies or
Courses?
A:
For TMCC general registration information click on the following
link: http://www.tmcc.edu/admissions/
Q:
I created a student profile some time ago, but forgot my login
and password. What do I do?
A:
Click on our "Contact"
link. If you are a member of one of the partnering agencies of
the RPSTC, phone or e-mail your agency's single point of contact
and ask them to send you a new profile notice via e-mail. Once
you receive the notice, print it out and keep it in a safe place
for future reference. If you are not a member of one of the partnering
agencies listed, phone or e-mail Beth Altergott
at 775-789-5500 or BAltergo@washoecounty.us.
Q:
I received an Instructor profile notice from the RPSTC. Is this
the same as my student profile notice?
A:
No. If you are registering for a class or wanting to view/print
a transcript of your attendance, you must login using your student
login and password. You will have a different login name as an
instructor (but may use the same password for both). As an instructor,
you have different privileges than those granted you as a student.
If you do not remember one or both of your profiles, follow the
instructions listed in the previous Q and A.
Q:
My organization is interested in conducting a class at the Training
Center, are classrooms available for rent?
A:
Yes. The fees vary for classrooms and facility resources
depending on a variety of factors. Training activities and rental
agreements must be approved in advance by the Center Director.
For information, contact Greg Befort, RPSTC Director
at 775-789-5510 or GBefort@washoecounty.us
Q:
I tried to register for a class and pay by credit card, but I
received a notice indicating that my credit card could not be
processed. What do I do?
A:
First, be sure that you entered the correct credit card number.
It is important that you also enter the correct physical billing
address associated with your card. Do not use a work address or
the transaction will be voided. If you still have problems, contact
Julie Bender at 775-789-5512 or JBender@washoecounty.us
for assistance.
Q:
My agency or organization is paying for my class. How do I register
in this case?
A:
If you do not have a student profile, you must create one. Once
your profile is created, contact Beverly Walker at 775-789-5417
or BWalker@washoecounty.us.
Beverly will process your registration and arrange for your agency
to be invoiced.
